Q: What are the attributes of each of your products?

A: We suggest B-Quiet Extreme, asphalt based, or Ultimate butyl rubber based throughout the vehicle to control structural borne noises, such as rattles, resonances, vibrations and to slow the propagation of road, engine and exhaust noise into the cabin.

Vcomp is a noise barrier composite consisting of a dense 1/8" vinyl-based polymer barrier with a 1/4" thick foam decoupler. It has a total thickness of 3/8", weighs approximately 1 lb/sq. ft. It is to be installed with the foam towards the source of the noise, with the vinyl barrier blocking those noises from traveling.

For even better reduction of road, engine and exhaust noise, we strongly encourage a layer of Vcomp in addition to the application of Extreme or Ultimate on the floor and lower interior firewall to absorb airborne noises.

Q: How do your products work?

A: People often ask how the products work. We recommend keeping the explanations down to the basics and going from there. A simple explanation of how the Ultimate and Extreme effectively reduce vibrational/road noise by transferring the vibrations and noise to heat, and the V-Comp and H-Liner contain foam to absorb air born sound.

Q: Can I use your product on a boat?

A: When using this type of sound deadening product in boats, there are a couple of things to consider.

1. B-Quiet Ultimate is the best sound deadening product available when it comes to vibration reduction, resonances and noise traveling through the hull and frame of the boat. It also has the highest heat rating which means it can go closer to the engine.

2. B-Quiet Vcomp is the best product when it comes to deadening sound like water and engine noise. But the Vcomp has a lower heat rating and cannot be used as close to the engine. The Vcomp is also partly open cell foam which means if it gets wet it will hold moisture and is not made for that kind of wear. The best spray adhesive for use with the Vcomp is the 3M Spray 90 which will give you a strong hold.

3. Hliner is good for absorbing and greatly reducing engine noise but does not have a rubberized polymer barrier. It can hold moisture which can create problems as well as wear out the material. All three products should be kept dry and will provide you with excellent sound deadening in a variety of applications.

Q: I want to quiet my motorhome. What products do you recommend?

A:The best combination of products to use on the doghouse in a motor home is a layer of the B-Quiet Ultimate with a layer of the Hliner over top. This helps reduce vibrations and absorb noise. You may wish to use just one or the other, which is still fine, but for superior sound insulating features as using a combination.

Both products should not get wet on a consistent basis, because the adhesive backing may begin to peel and the Hliner is an open cell foam that will absorb the water. So, we would suggest to only use these products on the inside of your vehicle.

Q: I want to quiet my theater room or music room. What products do you recommend?

A:We would suggest that using our Vcomp in your walls may help trap and absorb the noise and keep it from traveling outside the walls of the theater room.

Q:What’s the difference between your products and Dynamat?

A: Our B-Quiet Ultimate and Dynamat are extremely similar. The largest difference between the two products are cost and the size. We offer our product through direct sales channels saving you money and we can keep our costs far more affordable for the buyer.
