We usually focus on automobiles, but when a pilot named John approached us looking to quiet down his plane, we were confident we could help. After some consultation, we suggested Brown Bread and Lcomp. John set to work and wrote up this review complete with before and after sound measurements.

I have results from the tests on my Titan Tornado S airplane.

I must say that you and your products are exactly what you state they are. The shipping was came as promised and your help and expert advise was invaluable. The Brown Bread was very easy to apply and the Lcomp was very efficient to work with.

It was a challenge to try and determine where the noise was coming from. There was wind noise, engine noise and harmonic vibration from the aft Kevlar panels.

I chose to use the Brown Bread in the aft areas of the Kevlar panels. I used it in the upper area directly below the engine.  I also used it to seal the rubber gaps where the wings meet the fuselage. I only have one more place to add the Brown Bread. It is to the immediate underside of the wing inside the cockpit.

I used the Lcomp to reinforce the bulkhead vinyl door. I used upholstery glue and sprayed it on. I then cut the Lcomp to size and installed it. It made the bulkhead more rigid yet pliable so I can still get in and out of the aft equipment compartment.

Here are some numbers taken by a decibel meter. I first flew the plane without any sound deadening material and then  I completed most of the work. (except the last section on the inside roof area in the cockpit)  I flew it again and did the same tests holding the decibel meter in the same position.

                          Before                 After

Cruise  Speed     110  db                105  db
                                                                                                 Overall, very successful!

Full Throttle        112 db                 106  db

I still feel there is work to do regarding wind noise that enters through the doors. Other than that, I was very impressed with the two products that I used.

Below are some photo's of the job.

The Brown Bread was used to seal the upper wing area where previously there was only a rubber gasket.

In front and below of the engine, you can see the exterior of the rubber gasket. On the interior, the Brown Bread was used to seal the crack

This view is looking through the vinyl bulkhead aft. You can see the Brown Bread within the aft area of the Kevlar panels.

This is a view of the Lcomp and how it was attached to the bulkhead vinyl.

This is the same bulkhead, except in the closed position. You cannot tell there is Lcomp behind it. ( I used upholstery glue to cement it in place ).

This is a view looking upward from within the aft cockpit. The panel is actually the bottom surface of the wing. (This is the area that yet has to be sealed. )
